Mata Abú le Craig Ó Lochlann Rang 5

Toisc go raibh an scoil dúnta de bhárr Hairicín Ophelia níor thosaigh an tseachtain Mata go dtí an Chéadaoin. Ar an gcCéadaoin bhí tráth na gCeist again le foirne cúigear nó seisear páiste. Bhí duaiseanna ann. Ar an Aoine bhí díolachán cáca sa scoil agus d’imir mo rang cluichí boird. An pairt is fearr den lá sin ná nuair a tháinig foireann Phortlaoise le Corn an Chontae. Bhí an tseachtain mata mar an tseachtain is fear riamh lio i Rang 5.

An tSeachtain Mhata/ Maths’ Week

Tá an tseachtain mhata ag dul ar aghaidh go hiontach i nGaelscoil Phortlaoise. Bhí tráth na gCeist Mata, cluichí matamaitice ar siúl sa halla, lorg matamaitice ar siúl taobh amuigh agus díolachán cáca. ‘Sé sprioc na seachtaine ná go mbeadh meon dearfach ag na leanaí i dtreo matamaitice agus go bhfeicfí an mata mar chuid lárnach den saol laethúil, seachas ábhar scoile.

Maths Week is proving a great success in the Gaelscoil. The children participated in Maths’ quizzes, games, trails outside, not to mention a very successful cake-sale. The aim of the week is for the children to have a positive attitude towards maths and to see maths as an integral part of everyday life.
