An Cóineartú/Confirmation

Comhghairdeas leis na leanaí ó Rang 6, fé stiúir Múinteoir Daithí agus cabhair Cúntóir Noelle, a chuaigh fé lámh an Easpaig le déanaí. Ba iontach an ocáid e agus ní hamháin go raibh na leanaí go hiontach le linn an ullmhúcháin ar fad ach bhí siad thar barr ar an lá mór chomh maith.

Belated congratulations to the sixth class pupils, under the guidance and support of Múinteoir Daithí and Cúntóir Noelle, who were confirmed recently. It was a wonderful occasion and not only were the children very diligent in their preparation but they were also impeccably behaved on the big day too. See the following report from Matthew.

CONFIRMATION PREPARATION

The morning of the Confirmation was quite calm. I was very excited about the day ahead though. At around 12.30 pm my family started to slowly trickle into the house.

My aunt Danielle had brought decorations and a banner, which read: “MATTHEWS CONFIRMATION, 11th of March 2017”.I received cards and opened them before the Mass. I got a few others after the Ceremony. My aunt Karen had made and brought food for the Party and her Husband’s Mother had baked a delicious cake. My Sponsor Andrew arrived just in time for the Mass. When he was sitting down and when I had my robe, I finally sat down.

A while into the Mass the Bishop started to talk. He read out some letters and one of them was mine. He told me to stand up and he read snippets of what I had written. Afterwards I got a round of applause. When we walked out we got a magnet and wristband. After the photo I made my way back through the Church in search of my Dad, Nan, Brother and Sister. I found them and Andrew at the Altar. We made our way outside after a picture with Fr. Paddy and Bishop Dennis. I got two more cards off of friends. Andrew and myself went to Tesco to get some bottles of Coke. We eventually made our way home.

When I had eaten and drank my fill, I received yet more cards from relatives. I then changed and went out to the back garden. One of my friends came along and we played soccer with my brother and cousin. I played music on my Dad’s phone. When everyone had left I went inside to watch the telly.

Maitiú Breathnach, Rang 6.
