An Cóineartú-Eoin Ó Maolmhuaidh Rang 6

Ar an 20ú lá de Feabhra 2016 rinne Rang 6 an Coineartú i Séipéal Naomh Peadar agus Pól. Bhí an tEaspag Dennis McNulty i láthair. Bhí ochtar sagart eile ar an altóir, tháinig siad le chéile le linn an Aifrinn. Chan an Cór iomainn álainn. Bhí an séipéal dubh le daoine. Thog an tAifreann 2 uair a chloig agus chuaigh an t-am an-tapaidh mar go raibh an t-Easpag chomh greannmhar sin. Tar éis an Aifrinn fuaireamar grianghraf leis an Easpag. An Spelling Bee 2016 le Maitiú Breathnach.

Bhuaigh mé Spelling Bee na scoile an bliain seo. Bhi sé idir rang a cúig agus rang a sé. Téann an buaiteoir ar aghaidh go dtí Spelling Bee an Chontae. Bhuaigh mé an ceann scoile ach tháinig me sa cheathrú áit i gceann na contae. Ba iad m’fhocail sa cheann scoile ná: ‘dismay’, ‘chemistry’, ‘hammock’, agus sin an méid is cuimhin liom. Inniú bhí m’fhocail ; ‘castle’, ‘explore’, ‘library’, agus ansin fuair me ‘affectation’ mi-cheart! Níor chuala mé faoi an focail sin riamh fiú amhain! Ni dhéanfaidh me dearmad riamh ar chonas e a litriú! Slan agus beannacht,

Brat Glas/ Green Schools' Flag– Bithéagsúlacht/ Biodiversity

Is é an téama atá á dhéanamh againn i mbliana ná Bithéagsúlacht. Baineann sé seo le gach rud lasmuigh atá

beo – na crainn, na bláthanna fíáine, na míolta beaga, na héin, ainmhithe beaga, abhainneacha, éisc. Táimíd

gnóthach faoi láthair ag déanamh staidéir ar na nithe seo atá inár measc i dtimpeallacht na scoile. Cinnte tá

an bhithéagsúlacht le feiceáil timpeall an tí fiú má chónaíonn tú sa bhaile mór nó amuigh faoin tuath. Bígí ag faire amach má tá tú ag siúl nó ag obair sa ghairdín do bhóin Dé, seilide, péist, féileachán, frog, beach, iora rua, coinín, crainn Éireannacha, éin agus bláthanna fiáine.Díreoimid ár n-aird an na pointí seo a leanas:

An tábhacht a bhaineann le Bithéagsúlacht

  1. Cé chomh luachmhar is atá an bithéagsúlacht

  2. Na bagairtí atá ann don bhithéagsúlacht

  3. Slite gur féidir linn cabhair a thabhairt don bhithéagsúlacht

Our Green Flag theme this year is Biodiversity. Basically we are talking about anything outside that is alive – trees, wild flowers, mini-beasts, birds, small animals, rivers and fish. We are busy at the moment studying these trees, little animals, mini-beasts and their habitats that are in our midst. Biodiversity is all around our houses, our estates, our rivers. So if you live in the country or in the town you can watch out for ladybirds, snails, worms, butterflies, frogs, bees, squirrels, rabbits, Irish trees and wild flowers. We will focus our attention on the importance of Biodiversity, how valuable Biodiversity is to us, the threats to Biodiversity and ways that we can help it.
